Equus Bar at the Royal Horseguards Hotel, London

Designed  to delicately illuminate the deep recessed ceiling of the Equus Bar at the Royal Horseguards Hotel London, suspended  strings of clear acrylic shapes offer subtle sparkle to the bar and reception areas.

Created in collaboration with STS Design, to give a contemporary organic focus to the coffered ceiling with glints of bright light whilst highlighting the classic Victorian features, each recess houses hundreds of random acrylic shapes, all highly polished to catch the light. In a striking example of hotel lighting as a focal point of the interior scheme, eight low voltage 35w IRC downlighters are encased within each stainless steel ceiling plates giving flashes of brilliant light, reflected by the individually strung acrylic drops.

Part of a major restoration for this magnificent 5 star Guoman hotel, the Equus bar is now an eclectic mix of furnishings and quality hotel lighting combined to recreate the ‘Gentleman’s Club’ atmosphere of yesteryear.
